Régine de Festes was born in Lyon. She studied painting in the Art School of Toulon, France where she was the student of Baboulène. After she studied decorative art for a year in Nice, France, she followed a class of sculpture with Zadkine during three years, in the “Grande Chaumière” in Paris. She got married and went to Senegal (Africa) in 1958 where she exhibited her work in the Cultural Centre of Dakar in 1960, 1961 and 1962. She came back to France in 1964 and then started solo and group exhibitions worldwide.
